About

The Origins a of Miss Wet And Wild date back to the early 80’s. Although Wet T Shirt competitions have been around in one form or another, they only really started to get properly organised on a touring competition basis by the likes of Miss Wet T Shirt (which is now part of and owned by Miss Wet And Wild). Both were heavily promoted throughout the UK by leading entertainment agency’s like Big Bang, who still exist today and are based in Blackpool.

There were two main host companies that provided the Miss Wet T Shirt / Wet And Wild experience. One was based in the south of England and run by entertainment empresario Roy Barlow and in the North of England by Agent and DJ Steve Sale. Incorporated into the package that they used to supply back then was the men’s version of the event labeled Mr Wet Boxer Shorts.

It was around this time Steve Sale approached Dave Wild to trying inject some more interest into things. There already was a simple but very dated website in-place for Miss Wet And Wild, but Steve thought that Dave Wild might be able to modernise it and drag it into the 21st century. There was no social media in place but knowing that Dave was a bit of a wiz with things like that, he also asked him to set up a Twitter account.

The new website was a huge improvement and the Twitter account took off quite slowly at first, but soon found it’s feet as Dave started to do a bit of organised networking. Initially linking up with as many of the surviving UK night clubs. In turn the account then quickly built up a following with dancers, models and exotic performers. With Dave at the helm Steve Sale managed to give it a new lease of life.

These two well established events companies and hosts worked hand in hand covering each half of the UK respectively, playing to packed venues and night clubs all over the country. Unfortunately due to rising costs at all these big venues going through the roof, they gradually closed down or downsized their budget massively. This resulted in the cancellation of many monthly, quarterly and annual Wet T Shirt events.

The Wet T Shirt events in the south of the country, practically stopped overnight where budgets were being pushed beyond breaking points. Where as up in the North, super clubs in Blackpool, Leeds and Mr Smiths in Warrington held on to them for as long as possible.

However after a few more years of trying to keep these massive night clubs open and with times, trends and attitudes changing, they one by one not only cancelled most of their live and event entertainment, they closed their doors for good. There were a few of the smaller clubs that bit the bullet cost wise and hung on for a year or two more, but not for long.

It was all but dead in the water for most venues and this is where Dave Wild, picked up the reins of Miss Wet And Wild in 2018 and consequently also Miss Wet T Shirt. Dave knew it definitely needed a change of direction while still keeping the theme, of liberated, aqua-erotic, sexy fun and excitement, a prominent feature of what Miss Wet And Wild was all about.

Just to see how much things had changed within this side of the entertainment Dave decided to host one last event on the invitation of the Reva Nightclub in Cirencester. It’s not in a metropolis in any way or what you might call a hub of activity, but never the less it’s a popular and lively nightclub for locals and still is to this day. Hoping to monopolise on this particular event and with new fully trained staff in tow, he wanted to see what the feedback would be like and if there would be any further interest in the future. Sadly for various reasons, although the night was a huge success there were news events that had recently happened in the area, not connected with Miss Wet And Wild, that prevented any future interest.
